Unprofessional Business Practices
I was going to let this go after my review on Google. But then they called to apologise with feeble explanation and ask me to remove the review from Goggle. That's when I decided to escalate to Hello Peter. On Monday the 5th of July, I saw their ad on Autotrader for a Vitara. It was a great deal. A great looking car with low mileage. I called to ask if the car was still available. They said yes, so I told them I'd like to come see for a test drive. They say they'll bring it to me instead. I thought that was a brilliant service. What a mistake that was. They send me an email and asked fill in a form online, which they used to check my credit ratings. They also asked me a copy of my driver license. Now they have all my personal details and I am still yet to see the car. Later they emailed to say the car is out for rim repair and only be available later in the week. I said that wasn't a problem as long as I don't loose out on the deal. The next day I called to inquire further, they gave me the assurance that the car is still out for rim repairs. The following day I emailed to reaffirm my interest. This morning they email to asked my address, so they can bring the car to me. (Now, they have my personal details and my address!) I get a video message showing me that car. I gave them assurance I will be take the car if everything is in order. This afternoon, they send me a message saying they've sold the car to someone else and that they are sorry. I wrote a review on Google. Their marketing manger Vincent called to get the background from me. I sent him all the communications I had with the sales person. Later some assistance manager called, I gave him the same background details. He then explained that they have 5 or 6 branches selling from the same pool of car and unless I put down the deposit, they will not guarantee the sale. Over the last 4 days, they did not ask any deposit for the vehicle. After this feeble explanation and a pointless apology, the manager asked me to take my review down from Google. Really??? Is that really an ethical and professional business practice??? I would consider changing my review, if they offer a solution. There was NONE WHATSOEVER!
