POOR AFTER SALES SERVICE DELIVERY WITH NO FEEDBACK
We wish to formally lodge a complaint as there were material defects to the vehicle we bought at Mit Mak Motors that only came to our attention after delivery of the vehicle, which includes but is not limited to:
i. We’ve only received the vehicle 2 weeks after we’ve signed the contract, because Mit-Mak had to send the vehicle for small repairs, windscreen cracks etc. The contract was singed on the 31 May 2022 and we received it on the 13th June 2022. ii. The vehicle was advertised with 97,505 km. When we received the vehicle, it had 103,000 km and when we confronted the sales person about the 5000 km difference he mentioned to us that the vehicle was given to a Mit-Mak employee to drive with (thus false advertising) iii. On the 18th July 2022 we had to inform Mit-Mak that they had to replace the brakes as it was metal-on-metal. Thus a proper roadworthy and a fully inspection was not done. iv. The first week in November 2022 we’ve noticed the vehicle engine light was on and the vehicle suddenly lost power. A Diagnostic test was done at LMG (Legacy Motor Group) and they’ve found the following errors: • Evap purge control valve • Camshaft actuator • O2 Sensor We’ve contacted Cassies motor’s in Pretoria North to make an appointment for the repairs. The mechanic asked us if the cambelt service was done on 90,000 km in order to prepare a quote. We’ve phoned FORD *** and asked them for the vehicles service history (Please see full report attached) The vehicle had MAJOR ENGINE REPAIRS done and this was not disclosed to us as mentioned above (1.) v. After numerous whatsapps, e-mails, a website complaint and phone calls, Mit-Mak eventually agreed to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer 2 separate times and the problem was not resolved. The dealer send the vehicle on the 3rd occasion to FORD (OEM) where they resolved the wiring problem. Upon return of the vehicle we’ve asked if the vehicle was tested and inspected and they’ve assured us that it was done by FORD and themselves. vi. On receipt of the vehicle when driving the vehicle we noticed a noise on the right front wheel and reported it to Mit-Mak. Regarding this issue we haven’t received any feedback up until and including today regarding a scheduled date for repairs. We then took the vehicle to LMG for inspection and notified us that it was the right front CV that is faulty.
6. Due to the above mentioned information my intention is to terminate the agreement based on terms of my rights as set out above, The seller had more than enough time and 4 separate opportunities to rectify the above-mentioned defects within a reasonable time, and unfortunately they failed.
7. Unfortunately I don’t feel safe to drive this vehicle (Ford Kuga) anymore and have no faith in the dealer to rectify or resolve the above mentioned faults.
