Firstly I will recommend the personnel for going the extra mile and assisting where they can as I can be a difficult customer when it comes to getting what I am paying for. My career is based around quality management and customer service so shortcomings stand out for me and I expect the best possible quality if I am paying what I consider to be way over market value for a second hand car. I also have a lot of experience when it comes to cars as its one of my passions.
I would also recommend that acustomer always checks the final invoice before signing any document as a few 'extras' may have been added to your invoice, thereby increasing the price of the car without your knowledge. Sadly this has happened.
Also, always get everything in writing that has been promised by either sales personnel or management. Certain promises were made which ended up being charged for on the final invoice.
If you are not sure what extras you should accept, what should be charged for or what should be replaced as part of the roadworthiness of the car then get a second opinion from someone independent such as a friend or family member. Never let anyone pressure you into an inpulse buy. It's very important as sales personnel are trained to do so before you get to think clearly.
Always test drive a vehicle and insist on confirming the full service history of the car and confirm the service books match up to the actual car being purchased.
I have to say Stephen is a decent and helpful person to deal with and I would recommend that anyone deal with him if he is available.
