Factory shop outlet. Ignores customers waiting in the hot sun for more than an hour

On Friday 29 th September I went past the wholesale / factory outlet of Mr Sweet in Wadeville and saw about 6 people waiting in the queue. Knowing their policy of only 1 person at the till and only letting 5 people in at any one time I thought it a good idea to buy some sweets. This was at about 9.45 am. People came out but none were allowed in. The security guard sits in his hut ignoring whoever is waiting in the queue. After about a half hour we politely asked what the problem was as no one had been allowed in. They said the till operator was having tea. After another half hour ( can't believe I was foolish enough or hard up enough to wait) there were about 20 people in the line. At least about 5 people including myself started getting agitated as we were being totally ignored. Whoever of the workers that came out the gate said it was not their problem. I then started banging on the palisade fence. This alerted the guard who just stared at us as though we were non existent. I then phoned someone in the office to alert them to someone inside MR Sweets holy grail office to inform as to what was going on whilst waiting on the verge. I got through to a person/ manager called Andries who said it was just tough as that was their policy. He then said it was stock take. After huge complaints from our side they let us in and there was virtually nothing in the store. We had spent 1.5 hours waiting whilst all along they knew we were wasting our time. They were quite rough with me when I said I was going to take photos and complain. The security aggressively grabbed my phone and said I was forbidden to take photos. We can't believe s big company like this can treat loyal customers with such disregard and disdain. We understand re the stock take. There was a small sign on that the gate mentioning a stock take and how Mr Sweet was closing at 2 pm. We never saw this as only the persons in front of the queue would have seen it. Why could they just have saved us the wait? ( most of the people in the Neighbouring area had taken time off work) Mr Sweet and their employees could care less ! I believe that Mr Sweet is a very arrogant and customer dismissive company. They think they are invincible and too important for the common masses. Pride comes before the fall and what goes around comes around. SHAME on YOU MR SWEET !!!!

I own a business in the area myself and have never treated any customers let only 20 + like this. This e mail has taken lots of time and effort to construct yet I feel it was my duty to alert the powers that be as the people generally being abused waiting in the line are the disadvantaged and elderly who donor have a voice. Hopefully not probably, I get some response from this distressing situation as it is a disgrace.
