Best service during testing times
I tried to get Fibre since about 3 months ago. Twice, I tried another ISP who didn't charge a connection/activation fee, and twice they took longer than their 7 to 14 days to get my fibre line activated. So after cancelling the 2nd time, I decided to use Mind the Speed (my neighbour uses them, and I got a friend connected with them too. The other ISP took days, no, weeks, to let go of my fibre line for MTS to do their thing. I received an e-mail (from MTS) every 2 to 3 days, to let me know that my line was not released by the other ISP. During my time with the other ISP, I received a computer generated e-mail every few days, to let me know that my activation with Vuma was still pending. Finally, yesterday the line was released. Within an hour, I received an e-mail from MTS that my line was activated (I know!! Explain why the other ISP took more than 14 business days, right?) Within another hour, I received settings for my own fibre router. That was a bit of a pain, because the password was not initially recognised correctly; but with in half hour from starting to connecting, my router connected and I had my fibre up and running. Further more - Vuma dropped their prices according to MTS, and hence your basic line for R620 is now 20/10, not the normal 10/10mbps. The other ISP did not flinch or give the customer ANY sort of kick back from the deduction in Vuma's prices. I you still are not convinced that Mind the Speed must be the best ISP in SA, I do not know what will. PS. I DO NOT work for MTS - I am a software developer working from home, and that's why my fibre line is so important.
