All good until you have to move house

Everything was all good until I had to move house and the worst thing is they don't care whether they loose you in the process. It still baffles me that they would rather loose a customer and shove down their so called processes. Early October I inquired about moving house and I was told the process that I'd have to cancel the current service and reapply as a new customer...this was all so tedious, cause I'm moving house I had delays with proof of resident etc. At some point of the communication their support said something that led me to believe that if I stay with them then I wouldn't have to pay for the old line for November. To me logically it also made sense as by this time I've paid for the new line and I'm using the old router I was using as I'm moved house already. Next thing I receive an invoice for the old line as they need 30 days notification...I told them that in that case then I will pay for the old line and the cancellation and go find a new service provider. Wouldn't it have made to let the old line slip and they get to keep me as I had no intention to leave MTS in any case. End of October I get a bill for December and I question this and I get told they need a 30day notice ....shouldn't this cancellation been recorded when I told them that if they make me pay for the old line then I'm cancelling the new line too....this is all on email. Clearly they were only logging a call with vumatel at the end of November hence the cancellation will only be effective end of December. Nobody is getting back to me they're highly unbothered. It feels like I was forced to spend money for another month with them because of their stupid processes...which is fine I will pay for December plus the cancellation but like I told their support and billing people I won't stop spreading the word about their stupid process which hit the customer in the pocket. I know of ISP's who handle the moving process much more efficiently than this....this was so dramatic and so exhausting!

Good Evening Thandeka,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
We have investigated your recent engagement and can confirm we provided you all the required details about your move.

The process we follow is set by the fibre network operators, and in this case it is Vumatel.

We always take customer complains very seriously, as we pride ourselves as the best ISP in South Africa.

We do feel that we engaged and provided the information necessary.

You are correct, there is an invoice for the December, but that is for the new service and not the old service,  which has now been canceled for the end of December as per your request.

As the new service you ordered at your new residence was  a migration, we are billed by Vumatel, and as such we have are billing you for the clawback,  as the service as only been in for a month.

We are subsidising that cost by . R508 Should you choose to
remain on our network we we not bill the R500 cancelation fee.

We understand your frustration and respect your decision to terminate your service.

Thank you for your support over the last three years.

Regards

The MTS Team
