very unhappy customer

Several promises have not been fulfilled by Nissan Milnerton and I remain a very unhappy customer.

On Monday 18th February 2019 I telephone the dealership and enquired about the vehicle for my son to use for University. On Wednesday 19th February Almondo bought the car to me for a test drive. While driving we discussed the purchase and I said I would be happy to pay R------------------- including on the road costs providing the body work and tyres were in good order. Once back at the office I checked the tyres and bodywork. I discovered that the tyres were cracked from age and I wanted them replaced as part of the deal with the same make and brand Michelin which Almondo agreed to. I then received a quotation on 20th and I paid the full amount for the vehicle on the same day being 20th February 2019.Almondo said the car would be delivered on Friday 22nd February 2019. I then heard back from Almondo saying that they wouldn’t change the tyres as they would make no money on the car. I wasn’t happy as Almondo was now renegading on the deal we made and I wanted my money back. Merwaan the sales manager phoned me and eventually. I met them half way and I paid 50/50 on the new tyres. However, I was not happy about this new arrangement.

Unfortunately the Michelin tyres were not available in Cape Town and would only be available the following Wednesday 27th February 2019. I said I would take delivery of the vehicle any way on Friday and bring the car back the following Wednesday 27th for the tyres. Almondo was unable to deliver on Friday as he was in hospital and delivered on Saturday 23rd Feb instead.

While inspecting the car I noticed that the Centre cap on one wheel was now missing. Almondo said it must be at the office and when I took the car back for the tyres they would replace it. There were also two loose globes in the front left light cover just laying loose and the left and right front lights had different globes in them. Almondo said he would change them to match. I noticed the spare key casing was also broken and Almondo agreed to fixing it.

I spoke to Chris the dealership principle and we tried to organize a time for the car to go back and be fitted with the new tyres and have all the other faults made good. Between the dealership and my son’s university lectures it was agreed for Monday March 11th after 1.30pm which is when his lectures end and is his earliest day.

My son drove his car to the Milnerton Nissan dealership and no one there new about the arrangement. My son phoned me and I tried to phone Chris and Almondo. Chris has already left for the day and Almondo was off. I left a message on Chris’s phone he rep****. (Too late. Arrangements were made for 1.30 and that Chrisando will call me to make alternative arrangements.) I waited about an hour then phoned Almondo and he said he would pick the car up on Wednesday 13th March from my office and get everything sorted out.

One of the drivers arrived at 10am and took the vehicle. I phoned Almondo around 2pm to see if everything was sorted out. He told me the tyres and number plate were done but not the spare key. Apparently Merwaan said that he told me he wasn’t doing the key and Almondo was just following orders.

The driver dropped the car off very quickly at 5pm and disappeared before I could go and check the car. When I did, I found that there was damage, a deep gouge to the front passenger side spot light and a mark on the bumper which wasn’t there when they fetched the car earlier. The Centre cap had not been replaced neither had the spare key casing been replaced.

I wattsapped Almondo and sent him pictures of the damage and he said he would forward to Merwaan. I also messaged Chris the dealer principle and gave him until 10am Thursday to get the full story from his team and get back to me.

No one has had the courtesy to do so and I am still waiting for the outstanding details on the vehicle to be fixed along with the new damage.

I still don’t have an invoice from Nissan for the vehicle or tyres I paid for. I have since had to buy myself

1. A new Centre cap from Hyundai Plumstead (R-----------) 2. The spare key casing (-----------)
