Never Trust Nissan Milnerton

<p>I haven't told this story till now since I was still taking my vehicle to Nissan Milnerton for services and I didn't trust them not to ***** me over.</p> <p> </p> <p>I owned a 350z.</p> <p>About a year ago my clutch started slipping so I took it to them. I was told I needed to replace basically the entire clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, clutch plate... all of it. I told them to go ahead.</p> <p> </p> <p>First red flag, I got a call that afternoon, the repairs were delayed because they'd "Fitted the master bearing backwards". I didn't panic, and went to fetch the car the next day (Friday). I paid R50,000 for the work and drove away.</p> <p> </p> <p>That weekend I drove to Herm**** from Cape Town. And discovered that it was very difficult to shift into 5th and nearly impossible to shift into 6th. So on Monday morning I took the car back. Nissan informed me that 5th and 6th were damaged and that it would cost me R32,000 ex vat just for the parts.</p> <p> </p> <p>So I went to Nissan and exploded. The gearbox was fine when I gave them the car. The foreman rep**** that they didn't do any work on the gearbox and working on the clutch couldn't damage the gearbox. I rep**** I was ready to sue and I had 15 people ready to sign an afidavit that the gearbox was fine before they worked on the car. He rep**** he was ready to go to court and he would back he "Master Certified Mechanics" and that "The Master Certified Mechanics are the only ones who work on the sports cars"</p> <p> </p> <p>This is despite the fact that his "Master Certified Mechanics" fitted my clutch incorrectly the first time they tried to fit it. He then offered to give me the parts at warranty price (R16,000) and do the work for free. I accepted.</p> <p> </p> <p>Thursday, I phoned and was told they were still working on the gearbox.</p> <p>Friday, I phoned and was told they were still working on the gearbox.</p> <p>Monday, I phoned and was told they had worked on saturday and were just finishing off.</p> <p> </p> <p>On Tuesday, I phoned and my consultant was sick. So I spoke to someone who hadn't been told to LIE to me. She went into the workshop and asked "Where is the 350z?" and I heard the reply "Die gearbox issie reg nie, dis terug na die gearbox plek" The gearbox isn't right, it's back at the gearbox place.</p> <p> </p> <p>Later that day Rex Gearbox Specialists phoned me. "The gearbox is fine, Nissan just got the gearshift alignment wrong. We've sorted it out." They asked me where to deliver the car and I told them I would pick it up from Nissan.</p> <p> </p> <p>So I went to Nissan, and they looked me in the eye, shook my hand and told me that nothing was wrong and they had just sent the car to Rex for a final checkup. They did not admit that their MASTER CERTIFIED MECHANICS couldn't fit my gearbox correctly. They **** to my face.</p> <p> </p> <p>So how did my gearbox get damaged in the first place? Well, to fit the clutch you have to remove the gearbox. And what do you think happened when they refitted the gearbox? Yes, they ****ed up the alignment and that ****ed up the gearbox.</p> <p> </p> <p>I didn't have it in me to fight, I just wanted my car back, so I paid the R16,000 and left.</p> <p> </p> <p>Fair Warning. The Nissan "MASTER" certified mechanics are capable of a basic service, but don't trust them with anything else, they will **** it up, they will lie and it will cost you money.</p>
