Milnerton Nissan how to destroy a brand
On 10/03/18 I took my car in for a service at the dealer. it was a Saturday and I specifically requested that I will be waiting for the work to be done. After arriving well before 8AM and dealing with Yolanda, my car only went into the workshop at 8h47 with no other car in the workshop! upon "completion" I was asked to pay an amount that was written down on a piece of paper as the system had an error. Between her and Corne, my diesel car was transformed into a petrol as per the service checklist, listing sparkplugs etc. I pointed this out to her and told that the correct invoice would be sent to me on Monday. Upon arriving at home, I decided to check the work done as I discovered on my way home that the windscreen washer bottle was not even filled! I noted this before the service and assumed it would be done. I am a qualified mechanic so did the checks myself. There were more than 6 items that were not even looked at!I did not receive the invoice on Monday. Come tuesday I was contacted by Savannah to assess the level of service I received. I declined as I wanted to speak to the service manager about not receiving my invoice and copy of jobcard as I requested. Corne called me later to address the issue. I mentioned to him at this time that there were several points not carried out as per the service schedule which I did myself. Corne assured me the work was done correctly as HE WAS IN THE WORKSHOP! Yippee! I eventually got the invoice on the thursday 16/03. By this time I alerted Nissan SA of the situation and now the dealer principal got involved. In my email to Nissan SA, I requested that they assist me in getting a refund for the work not done. Leon, when he phoned, addressed me in a very abrupt tone and even sent me an email with a disrespectful tone as if to assert his "superiority" over me. He gave me a take-it or leave it ultimatum to have the service redone (for free, after I already paid for it ) and I could watch while the work was done. I explained to him that I did the tasks not done as there is a service checklist in the service book and that it would be of no benefit and in fact a waste of everybody's time. I pointed out to leon that his claims of "trained qualified technicians" working to "manufacturer schedule" is of little consolation as the work was NOT DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! leon has now told me to take up the matter with Nissan SA's rep or go to the ombudsman as he is not prepared to assist. I have received nothing but disrespect and lack of responsibility for their poor service. This is a blatant "F-off" to a paying customer as he should be well aware of the time it takes to resolve a case with the MIO. It is people in the industry that ill-treat customers that gives the rest of hard working people in the motor industry a bad name.
