Many issues, no assistance.
I purchased a 2020 Mercedes Benz Vito 116 from Milnerton. I signed and completed the deal on 21 September 2022. The vehicle was sent with TOC Carriers and got delayed in Johannesburg ( stood there for almost a week ) So I went to JHB from Nelspruit on the 29th of September and collected it at the carrier. I would be reimbursed partially for the transport fee that was charged as I collected it and the last leg of the transport was not completed. To date the dealership has not sorted this out. The vehicle was not as described with damage to the bumpers,a worn tire and dirty inside etc.The loadbin area is damaged and rear seats torn on the back. Dealership offered to pay for repair of bumpers and valet. I am willing to pay for the tire and sort iut the interior.Which I thought was a fair compromise. The dealership is to pay the Panelbeater directly for this.To date this payment has not been received by the Panelbeater.
When I reached Nelspruit a check engine light came on.Adblue system faulty.
I immediately informed the salesperson. I phoned Mercedes who informed me there was no warranty on the vehicle. So I went to Mercedes in Nelspruit the next morning. The warranty had expired, only a basic serviceplan was active and that would not cover the issue/fault.
I was referred to an independent Mercedes specialist. I told Sam ( salesperson ) and Pieter ( manager ) that I am taking the vehicle to them.Pieter even confirmed that he knew the place very well. I went to them and they identified the problem.
The adblue system is fairly extensive and has many components. Fault on this vehicle was the Nox sensor. Spoke to Pieter and Sam at the dealership and informed them.
Had it repaired as I was almost on my way on holiday.I paid for it, thinking/understanding the dealership would reimburse me. I am about 1500 km from the dealership. So could not take the vehicle back to them.
Sent through the invoice and reports of all other errors they had cleared.
The message I have been getting from the dealership after the managers, salesperson and F&I manager all agreed to help get my issues sorted was that the dealership will pay for the repairs on bumpers and valet etc.
But the engine light issues they are walking away from as the DP said they are not responsible as I refused to take a warranty.I was under the impression the vehicle was under warranty. But I also feel that since the problem happen within hours of receiving the vehicle, surely the dealership has to take ownership?
Yasmin ( the F7I )did not ad a warranty because the vehicle was still under 2 years old ( merc gives 24 months unlimited km warranty ) But it has since transpired that this vehicles warranty was registed in 2019.
I feel strongly that the dealership should take responsibility as it was on the same day that I collected the vehicle that the issues started.
The managers just said their hands are tied, they can not help as the DP refuses to assist.
I have left numerous messages for Gary( the DP ) to contact me and tried to get hold of him as well. Without success.
Vehicle was delivered to me with a permit which has expired on the 13th of October 2022.I am driving with a trade number plate from a local dealership. Sam is still awaiting the Natis documents from Johannesburg to register so that I can do licensing.
So as of now not one issue/problem has been resolved.
I have involved Absa and the Ombudsman now as I no longer know what to do.
I am not aware that you are dealing with the matter internally. How would I know?
Lets see what happens. But I must say I am really dissapointed so far.
I have not received any updates.

Dealership confirmed that panelbeater can carry on with repair work and they would process his payment.
They would have paid him last week.
Then they said said this week.
Nothing yet.

Still waiting for registration to be done so I can get a license and numberplates.
Still no feedback from the dealership.
Other than that I am aware that all relevant staff have been called in and told not to speak to me directly.
I now have a query about the servicing of the vehicle.

Thank you for your comment. We are currently awaiting arbitration from the MIOSA on what steps to take moving forward as the matter is currently with them. I have followed up with the relevant staff members and they have mentioned that they have been keeping you updated throughout the process and will make sure to continuously keep you in the loop and address any queries that you may have moving forward.

My vehicle is still at the panelbeater who has not been paid.
Dealership has now stated that they would pay the funds of the panelbeater to me.Not sure why,as they said the whole time they are paying them directly ( and told him to carry out the work )
( have asked them numerous times over the last few day when they would pay.No answer )
Registration and licensing still not done.
There also seems to be an issue with the services on the vehicle.Last service was done at around 47 000km
Vehicle is now on around 85 000km and show next service only due in 37 000 km.So service indicator has been reset without a service having been done. Not sure why,it has a service plan.Informed the dealership.Surprise - they just know nothing about this, and that’s it.
No other feedback from the dealership.
It has now been one and a half months since I bought the vehicle. And not a single issue has been resolved.
I really regret doing business with Milnerton Nissan.
0 customer service.
