Please stay away from this company
So MidCity chooses to switch off my electricity today midday because the wrong reference was used, this despite the fact that the proof of payment was emailed to them this morning. A month ago they switched me off claiming that even though I have a post paid meter, I have not paid my prepaid meter. On 20 November 2024 they send a letter about a risk deposit with no due date for payment hoping to use this against me to switch off my power, no notice whatsoever, they switch off even before 30 days is over This is getting personal, unprofessional and abusive.

She now wants a fee of R1 300 for no reason, ask after disconnecting us *******ly. This time I will report you to the ombudsman as I have not been provided with any reason why the power was switched off. Ask your credit department, my account number is 27771 at Bluestream villas.

As per the municipal bylaws a risk deposit must be equal to at least two times the average monthly post-paid utilities account.
With the review of the risk deposits, the past 12 months monthly post-paid utilities accounts are considered as well as the yearly tariff increases that takes effect as from July of every year.

18 Dec 2024, 13:33Good day
What was shared on 11 December 2024 was a schedule of Tariffs from City of Tshwane. In your letter dated 20 November 2024 regarding the risk deposit, what was the due date of payment and when did you give a notice to switch off a household with a fully paid account. You are free to share your communication on this platform and indicate when you said the risk deposit was due?

18 Dec 2024, 13:35Please also consult the trustees because there was a deposit for utilities paid when I acquired that Property. I will also appreciate it if you can indicate if you have considered that amount in determining what is due to you.
