Someone needs to do something about the bad treatment from this company
MidCity chose to switch off my electricity today midday because they claim the wrong reference was used, this despite the fact that the proof of payment was emailed to them this morning. I have been using my unit number as a reference for over a year and they had no problem allocating the payment previously. A month ago they switched me off claiming that even though I have a post paid meter, I have not paid my prepaid meter. On 20 November 2024 they send a letter about a risk deposit with no due date for payment hoping to use this against me to switch off my power, no notice whatsoever, they switch off even before 30 days is over This is getting personal, unprofessional and abusive.

Thanks for your reply, however it is not sufficient as I have been emailing and speaking to your credit department the whole of yesterday and this morning. I will report you to the ombudsman because I still have not been given a valid reason why my power was disconnected. I am referring to a unit at Bluestream villas and the matter has still not been resolved.

Risk deposit increased is an unfortunate yearly occurrence / review. A notice regarding risk deposit reviews were sent in October 2024.

As per the municipal bylaws a risk deposit must be equal to at least two times the average monthly post-paid utilities account. With the review of the risk deposits, the past 12 months monthly post-paid utilities accounts are considered as well as the yearly tariff increases that takes effect as from July of every year.
Information was also provided by our Executive Director on 11 December 2024 & communication between yourself and our offices were also done the past 7 days.

18 Dec 2024, 15:36Please also consult the trustees because there was a deposit for utilities paid when I acquired that Property. I will also appreciate it if you can indicate if you have considered that amount in determining what is due to you.
