My contract was canceled due to car oil leakage at the De Boulevard Height Unit 102 in Silverton Pretoria of which to me it was a surprise because I went to MIDCITY office’s I spoke to Isabel Lundall and we agreed that I will fix my vehicle, MIDCITY charged me R776 to clean the spot for oil when I asked how the contract calculated the amount because I use to clean it myself as well and the chemical costs only R30 to buy it ,Isabel said I must send her Pic to prove that I was cleaning, of which I found it very amazing because security and caretaker were aware that I was cleaning from time to time A day before my cousin moved in with me ,On the 10 June 2016 I got a notice from the caretaker that I must vacate the premises by the 31 July 2016 ,simply because I did not went to the office to report that someone will be staying with , When I moved in to the Premises in the 1st place the very same caretaker told me that I need to inform him whenever I have a new tenant. Someone from the office told me that MIDCITY has changed their terms ,in terms of having a new tenant you need to inform the office that your adding someone to the contract and you need to pay R1500 to adjust the contract of which it was not communicated before to all tenants and I was not adding anyone of the contract, again Isabel said my contract allows 3 people me my wife and my child but I told them that I never lived with my child before Again I was charged R250 for late payment somewhere around March if I am not mistaken and I went through my contract under term 32 SURCHAGES ON LATE PAYMENT it’s clearly says that if rental is paid after the 1st day of the month in respect of which it is due, a surcharges of R50 shall be payable by the lessee to cover the administration and collection fee That was also a surprise to me, that if I didn’t read my contract properly i was going to be charged R250 instate of R50, MIDCITY is not transparent to tenants Today I called MIDCITY again to inform them that I even painted the property just before I vacate it, and inspector came and he said everything was fine so I asked the lady when am I going to be refunded she said they did not get any report from the inspector because yesterday was a public holyday, that was a lousy excuse, The reason why I paint was to make sure that they not going to take my Deposit, because I spoke to a lady who deals with Deposit and she said normally if someone moves out from De Boulevard Heights they normally take about R2000 from the deposit for renovation of which is total rip-off, tenants needs to be aware of this nature, MIDCITY gave me a bad service as if I was not paying rent ,a BIG thank you MIDCITY for your service Even the notice does not mention the reason for termination of contract ,i did inform Isabel that caretaker disrespect but she did not entertain it ,so i guess when your white you can get away with anything at MIDCITY , Can someone please tell when am i going to get my Deposit back and why did you charge me R250.
