Midcity: Would not recommend

Midcity is very organised, quick and responsive when you want to get in. When you leave, they no longer have the energy to deal with you. Lived in an apartment they manage and they are good with admin. They have a portal for rentals and utilities hence the two stars. When I moved out my deposit was withheld because they said the place was dirty so R4350 was not returned because they wanted to clean. When I did the move out inspection, their inspector thanked me for leaving the apartment clean, and not having broken anything, I expected some not all of my deposit back. after following up with the deposit 2 weeks later, I was emailed a list with fees showing that they needed to repair the apartment to the tune of R5080. What a wow. When you sign the contract, they have a deosit clause that says the deposit will be put in interest generating account but after 4 years, no interest was talked about, but I conveniently owed them. No wear and tear was considered for things like the screen door that was outside my apartment that they told me they needed to repaint and it was dirty. The thing is outside, how am I supposed to keep it spotless. All in all, for convenience do move in with them, but if you are paying two times the deposit, or you are suffering economic hardships, this is not the place for you. The deposit is for them, a parting gift I guess. Would have been good to know before they make you do the deposit refund process knowing well they have no intention of giving you anything back.
