MIdcity Expensive and bad services
We have a property in Pretoria East. I was staying there and then in 2019 Midcity took over the Utilities services at the complex. They then placed solar panels in the whole complex on which according to my record was to assist house holds during the day to bring the electricity bill down.
Then all of the sudden where my account was normally R800 - R1000 per month I started receiving bills of between R1300 - R2100 of which was ridiculously high.
Then I moved out of the premises to renovate the premises and I got a disconnection fee of over R900 in December. When I queried it they said that the care taker informed them. That is not protocol to do as they did not confirm that. Then in that same month when no one was there I still got a bill of R1265 to pay. When I queried it they did not answer me. Then I gave notice for them to disconnect me electricity on the 20th of January as the we placed a new Tenant in our premises on the 21st of January 2022. Believe it or not still got an account of R625 to pay and please note that there was during this month 4 days the guys were busy painting in the premises and the main switch was off and the geyser was off during December and January. So how is that possible when no one is in the premises during the days or nights.
Now I have been querying for a few days when will they pay my deposit back and they say after the next Charges being generated.
My charges have been cancelled so they are not suppose to run any new charges as that was suppose to be done when cut off was done.
For the past couple of days I have sent mails ect but no one is giving me an update or answering my mails.
They quick to cut off your electricity when you don't pay but when they have to pay back your deposit they don't give you feedback or on why your account can still be so high when no one was occupying the premises.
