Horrible customer credit controller no customer service its either Midcity way or you stay in the dark!!!!
Midcity disconnected my electricity I called to inquire I was told I was a new tenant therefore I had to pay the deposit I corrected the lady that when they were brought in as contractor I was a tenant here already and I have never left and we emailed proof then they reconnected me then said they will get back to us but never did. A few weeks after they disconnected us again I called they now said I owe a R 1000 worth of water for last month and had to pay R 1000 cancellation fee and that they had left me a note by the door, I tried to reason with the lady that my partner had granted them permission to debit funds for water every month and the is no way I would've used R 1000 worth of water i stay alone she said the is nothing they can do I have to pay so I can have my prepaid electricity reconnected. I decided to go to the Complex caretaker explained my situation she decided to switch my plug back on as she said she thinks the is a misunderstanding. A few days after I buy electricity I get 0 token back meaning Midcity takes the money and i receive 0 tokens I called again spoke to a lovely Gentleman he said I'll be arriving home in 5minutes I will be able to connect to my laptop then assist you in 10 minutes I will call you back, then a Rude lady called Lilly Moriri calls me instead " I have been told to call you" she does not even greet, I then explained my situation till I mentioned my partners name whom the contract is under then she remembers then tells me a different story that we were not in the flat for a few months then they assumed that we had moved out even though we had clarified that we not new tenants but we have to still pay deposit and monthly tariffs which is what we are owing, they decided on their own to end our contract and stop the debit order she then said we were suppose to notify them that we gonna be away for a few months and that she is doing me a favour just by talking to me because the contract is not under my name therefore whatever issue I have I must take it up with my partner shell only cooperate with him!!! Midcity are you saying your customers must report to you before have they leave their homes? Lilly then continued to rudely tell me that I must hurry up and stop telling her about irrelevant information it's late already she must go fetch her child from daycare!!! Out of desperation I pleaded with lilly that we pay half of the amount then the rest friday as its pay day she rudely refused and said since we reconnected our selves the last time " We took offence " therefore either we pay the full amount or I remain in the dark as I am now!!! My partner then called her again to plead that we pay half the amount in 2 days well pay the rest Friday she refused added that ontop of the 2000 well have to add what we owe for this current month before she can reconnect us. The statement that she sent us make no sense even written for the month of November but I'm still in October but that didn't matter we were willing to pay for what we dont understand just so we have electricity which is totally wrong customers are suppose to pay for what they used or atleast know. I have been without electricity bathing with cold water the whole week and my sin was not to notify Midcity that I'll be away. I am shuttered by how this company has treated us allowing their so called credit controller Lilly Moriri to abuse us forgetting that she represents a brand that some1 once upon a time and sweat to build took she allows her title to go up to her head is ruining that brand...
