Warranty problem

I have bought machine at Mica hardware and they got broken within weeks after purchase,when I took them back for repair as they were still on warranty they then asked me to pay for the repair as I did not understand why that should be done. When I told them they insisted that I should pay even today I did not get my machine back. I need help regarding that
