Solar garden lights (no replacement batteries)

I purchased solar garden lights from Benoni Mica Hardware approximately 1 year ago. The lights have become very dim and one is hardly working. It has become apparent that the rechargeable solar batteries are in need of replacement. However, after making a number of phone calls, including Mica and a dedicated battery wholesaler, I have been advised that the replacement batteries cannot be purchased. I find it hard to believe that an entire garden light (which is not a cheap product which is made from stainless steel) has to be thrown away as a simple replacement battery cannot be purchased. I cannot understand why there cannot be battery replacements for this product. If this is the case, they should advise customers that there are no battery replacements when these lamps are being purchased.
