RECYCLING? WOT'S THAT??
For about 3rd time in as many years I took a quantity of batteries and light-blubs down to Mica Eastgate. I have been encouraging them to recycle these items (which they sell large quantities of) for some time. So they directed me outside where there were indeed four containers - for paper, plastic, glass and tins! One of the staff members said - No, you put the batteries and blubs in there and then they'll get sorted....<br> It upsets me that very few companies in SA are taking recycling at all seriously (though Woolies and Pick n Pay do it in a half-hearted sort of way). And Mica COULD be leading the way but they choose not to. I can't understand this. It would be great if someone senior from Mica could respond. Oh, by the way, the staffer at Mica who 'helped' me said that they \couldn't get"suitable containers for batteries to be recycled and that's why they don't do it!"""
