Mica Eastgate is very happy to employ ******* they don't even care about customers
I bought at Mica Eastgate twice on the 31st of Jan, when I came back the second time I had a shopping bag with me containing a few items and my 2 cellphones at the bottom. The girl at the door said I should leave my bag on the table, just to the side of the entrance on the left. I took out one cellphone and made sure I tie the shopping bag. I took my time inside, about an hour. As I was walking out I noticed that my bag was no longer on the table where I had left it, the girl at the door immediately noticed me and said they thought I left my bag so they put it behind the counter, next to the table where I had left it, but off the cameras. When I received my bag I noticed that it had been tampered with since I had tied it but I did not want to be rude by checking the contents right in front of her and I did not expect nor suspect anyone would stick their filthy hands in my bag and ***** inside a Mica in Eastgate. It was only when I got home that I noticed my phone was ******. I use this phone for everything it has all my important apps, from banking to anything you can think of. I called the head office the next day and reported the issue to Sheila, who expressed her disappointment and told me that she will expeditiously report the matter with the branch management and owners. Which I believe she did, but in the same breath she blamed me for leaving the phone in the bag. That still does not sit well with me especially because the bag was tied and left inside Mica with its employees. It was tied, placed safely inside your store for crying out loud!
I waited and expected a call but no one called, about 4 days later I called and asked to see camera footage. When I arrived I found Tony their head of security who told me he couldn't see anything. I never got to see the footage but met Dave the manager and Ryan who told me he was one of the owners of Mica Eastgate. Ryan went on very passionately about how this wasn't tolerated in their store and promised to get to the bottom of this matter swiftly, it should take about 4 days. In the same breath he also blamed me for leaving the phone in the bag, saying I slipped and someone saw an opportunity.
It's been a month now nothing has been done, no one has called as they had promised to. When I call Dave, the manager he tells me someone is supposed to call, he said the same thing today and said that person is on leave.
I am now convinced that they are dragging their feet because I am not the kind of customer they respect, had I been that kind this matter would have been long resolved and in a very satisfactory manner.
The person who touched my bag and moved it is the person who stole my phone, it can't be that difficult to figure out, since Mica Eastgate does not ask customers to leave their bags anyway.
