Worst case scenario with MIBFA handling our death benefits claim

Hello Peter. My husband passed away 8 months ago. I had a worst case scenario with MIBFA since I admitted my late husband death benefits claim 4 March 2026 . He was our breadwinner and we only lived on his income monthly .A case worker Mandisa phones me and my son in April to asked information about a sibling and a close friend contact details. That was it 6 months almost 7 months ago no update or fallow-up on this death benefits claim. I wrote 2 emails 3June 2026 to Mandisa no response and 30 June 2026 to MIBFA death benefits no response again. On 13 July I went to the branch in Cape Town. Mr Meiring at the front desk informed me that Mandisa don't handle the file anymore but it's transfer to a nother staff members name Sue and is now treated as complete new application Stalling a death benefits claim for more than 6 months almost 7 months resetting the process due to internal staff changes continues severe maladministation and failure of your fiduciary duties. I know about the section 37 C where MIBFA must investigate if theres other beneficiaries . But my son and I are the only beneficiaries of this death benefits claim. The facts here is they did nothing until this day. MIBFA staff used section 37 C for unessarry delays and maladministation negligence and failed us.We facing severe humanitarian escalation , financial hardship and to sucure our home that's why we need this funds urgently . That management finalize this death benefits claim on urgent humanitarian grounds . I wrote a last emall 11 August 2026 and demand that a manger or supervisor contact me in 5 days. For more than 6 months we waited pasiently and now that time is just wiped out in flash. MIBFA staff can really treat clients that apply for death benefits with more dignity and understanding they still in moarn about the love one they lost and that some people urgently need the funds for servival . That's was my worst experience with a business ever. MIBFA just give me runarounds and failed us to give a clear update on the process of my application.
