Surplus Claim Death Benefit

My experience, to say the least, is that of disappointment, frustration, disbelief, disgrace and annoyance. I don't think I've ever been this hurt about anything which has to do with my father ever since he passed on 05 April 2015. He died waiting for a Provident fund claim he made from MIBFA. They paid the death benefit in May 2015. Late 2015 my mom submitted a claim for a Surplus Fund benefit when they sent a letter to notify us that there are funds available. There after they refused to payout to my mom saying that I as the only surviving beneficiary should submit the claim because it's already on payment stage, it will be just a change of the claimants name and it should be finalised in 2 weeks.

I had an issue of the Letter of Authority which is in my moms name but unfortunately after travelling to Cape Town to have it changed to my name I couldn't have it re issued by the Masters Court. I notified Mibfa and I spoke to a lady named Keitumetse (Keke) who is a Supervisor at the Death benefit dept and she advised me that my mom should write an affidavit to support the Letter of Authority and attach it to the documents. Which we abided and sent all the relevant documentation as they had requested.

I was promised that everything will be verified within a week and payment will be made in 2 weeks. Till to date I am still waiting and I have been taken from pillar to post, nobody wants to give a straight answer. The clerk who has been assisting me Clint Thinnies has been helpful in certyain aspects but now he has just turned against me and is telling me about procedures that were not even mentioned when this whole this started. It's been an emotional rolacoaster for me because my father died waiting for this money and I am in preparation of unveilling his tombstone and was hoping this money would be paid out in time for that ceremony.

Please help me

Thanks
