MIBFA - TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!

Earlier in the year I phoned MIBFA to see if there was any unclaimed money that was due to me. I was advised that there was money owing to me and that I needed to complete a withdrawal form.

I then obtained the withdrawal form and gathered all the documentation that was necessary and on the 24th of May 2016, I submitted all the documentation to MIBFA’s offices in Johannesburg.

In July I received a phone call from Nonhlanhla Themba asking me how long I was employed for at the companies, which was the last company I worked for, etc., etc. and she advised me that I needed to complete a Divorce Affidavit which had to be completed by the police station (even though I provided them with a copy of my Divorce Decree). My girlfriend and I went to the police station that night and the very next morning my girlfriend scanned and e-mailed the Divorce Affadavit to Nonhlanhla.

About 2 weeks later, I received payment which was for an incorrect amount. I asked my girlfriend to find out from Nonhlanhla if there was another payment due in a couple of days or if this was it. She said “she can only pick up my records for a period of five months”. I worked for one company for twenty+ (20+) years (broken service) – what happened to all that money.

My girlfriend sent Nonhlanhla and e-mail asking her about this and she said “we need to take it up with the company direct”.

I liaised with the company and they in turn said I must liaise with MIBFA and furnished us with the company reference number.

My girlfriend then provided Nonhlanhla with the reference number on two occasions and still nothing happened. I was left totally in the dark.

About three weeks ago my girlfriend scanned and e-mailed all my documentation for ease of reference when Nonhlanhla assisted me with the balance of the money that was due to me and still, she failed to come back to me.

On the 27th of July 2016, I advised my girlfriend to contact Nonhlanhla again and find out what is happening and there was no reply.

On the 5th of August 2016, my girlfriend contact Nonhlanhla again she said “Mr. Lincolm (not even his name) is not the only member that I have to deal with, you need to be patient. Will get to it as soon as possible”. My girlfriend asked if she must re-scan and e-mail the documents to her again and she said yes but she can only work on the matter next week.

Needless to say, she only re-scanned and e-mailed the documents on Wednesday the 10th of July 2016 with the following message “Good Morning Nonhlanhla, Attached hereto are the copies of the documentation that I said I would e-mail to you for Mr Malcolm Kalil. As they have been e-mailed to you, this is how they were delivered to your premises on the 24th of May 2016. Some of the Relion payslips are a bit light in colour, but I am sure you will be able to ascertain the amounts on your side from the company records. Please could you confirm receipt of these documents.” and gave my contact telephone number to her.

Nonhlanhla sent an e-mail and said she is unable to open the scanned document (but yet she was able to open the one page divorce affidavit) and said she must scan and e-mail the documents like she normally would.

My girlfriend then asked her for a fax number and faxed through 41 pages to her. When my girlfriend asked her if she received it she said no she never. My girlfriend then sent a copy of the transmission slip stating that the fax was send successfully.

Still no answer.

MIBFA – YOUR STAFF REALLY THINK THEY ARE DOING SOMETHING FOR THEIR MEMBERS BUT IN THE MEANTIME THEY ARE DOING NOTHING. YOUR MEMBERS HAVE TO ALWAYS FIGHT FOR WHAT IS THEIRS – WHY IS THIS?
