MIBFA! taking the \You"out of \""your money\"""""

Mibfa is clearly a sinking ship! SA metal industry employees are forced to pay their pension/provident fund contributions into this abyss, and it seems that everybody trying to process a claim is left in complete darkness. I was a contributor for 4 years. In November 2014 i proceeded with my application to have my provident fund payed out and it has been a rollercoaster ride doomed from the start! A fund is supposed to take approximately 4 to 6 weeks to pay out. On January 20 , 2015 (almost 8 weeks in) i had not received any confirmation of process or payements, no communication whatsoever. I visited the Mibfa website, wihich is full of blatant lies regarding their service quality and mission statement. It has been almost 7 months no payout. Their call centre, website and staff are useless. They confirmed that my request was only logged on the 7 Dec, but that is all they can tell me. It takes 15 minutes to get through to someone who cant give any info. If i enquire about the balance of my fund i get told \there's no way we can know it must be calculated".Where is the fund status published?? I only ever received 1statement! This fund stinks of mismanagement. Mishandling our money"""
