MG Motor South Africa
It is certainly no easy task to conquer the South African market, which has recently been literally flooded with new Players (perhaps too many?) in the Automotive Sector—specifically, "Made in China" brands. MG is one of these, and to be fair, it is holding its own quite well in terms of sales figures. However, a dark cloud hangs over the Brand—which has existed since 1924 and has been once again active in international markets since 2007, thanks to SAIC Motor: the electronic systems managing the MG iSMART ZA App fails to establish a connection between smartphones (both iPhone and Android) and the vehicles. I recently purchased an MG MG3, drawn by the model's styling and placing my trust in its "old-school" 1.5-liter engine—a simple, structurally solid unit. However, when it came time to activate the App on my iPhone to link it with the car's system, no one at the dealership where I bought it—nor at their authorized service center—understood the problem or managed to resolve it, even after supposedly contacting MG South Africa. I eventually decided to contact MG Motor South Africa Customer Support directly (***) to fix the issue. Despite receiving immediate replies and very polite promises of assistance, I have heard nothing since. Unfortunately, this has negatively impacted my overall opinion of the Brand. While I still enjoy driving my MG3, I really dislike this dark cloud hanging over the brand—especially since MG Motor South Africa has chosen to hide behind a deafening silence that simply demonstrates incompetence. It is a terrible look that unfairly tarnishes the Brand's image! Shame!

Disappointing warranty service
My MG just had its first annual service done in April, a month later a water pipe by the washer bottle broke. This vehicle is only 1 year old and MG Durban UMhlanga state that they cannot repair it under warranty. How can a water pipe be damaged due to wear and tear within one year. This is very poor service. I was sold the vehicle with a 7 year bumper to bumper warranty and yet a water pipe cannot be replaced
