Worst Fibre provider ever

Is there a more pathetic combination than that of Afrihost and Metrofibre?

I moved to a new apartment on the 26 of February and requested a fibre transfer. After 3 days of still no internet I contacted Afrihost and was not happy with their poor response so I contacted Metrofibre myself.

It turned out the previous tenant never cancelled the existing fibre so an early line release was requested (after I had to tell Afrihost what to do) on 28 Feb 2025.

Fast forward a month, countless helpline calls, emails, you name it and I still don't have internet.

When I moved in there was a working Metrofibre box (with working green lights) in the flat so I doubted that was the problem but I still organised that a technician could come and install a new box early this week.

I was shocked and disgusted when Metrofibre called me again this morning to come replace the router, not even 3 days old because they saw I still had no internet. And then they had the audacity to tell me I needed to request an early line release, something that been done on 26 Feb and I had checked multiple times since then.

Do these companies not communicate with each other? And more concerningly do they not communicate with the technicians that they send into my home to fix things that are not even the problem.

If I am honest I still don't really know what an "early line release" entails, but is it really something that takes more than a month?

Shocking service! I wish I could cancel. Would not even recommend to my enemy.
