What *******ion is this?
I'm switching ISPs away from Metrofibre Direct to Web Africa. On 26 September Metrofibre came to remove the ONT and replace it with a new one. The new ISP cannot get the line activated because the old ISP (Metrofibre direct) hasn't release it. But Metrofibre doesn't wan't to cancel or release the line. Metrofibre says "cancellations carry a 30 day notice" and they "cannot release the line before the expiry date".
Well played Metrofibre. You got your revenge for me cancelling... Metrofibre takes the ONT with an activated fibre line, I've paid for the full month already but they refuse to release the line so that I can get my internet service reactivated with the new ISP. Well done!
I'm FINE with overlapping payments. I'm FINE with paying for the full month of service even though it's cancelled early. JUST RELEASE THE LINE SO I CAN GET MY INTERNET CONNECTION RESTORED PLEASE?!?!?!?!?!
We deeply regret any frustration you may have experienced.

After a back and forth with "***", I'm still being explained to that "they've encountered an issue with activating the line".
Yes sir, I do believe I came to the same conclusion. Thank you for clarifying the same thing since the initial activation attempt on 27/09/2023.
Now that the genius moments are out the way and we're two pages closer to being on the same page, may I kindly request to skip the rest of the pages and listen up.
METROFIBRE DIRECT NEEDS TO CANCEL THE PACKAGE AND RELEASE THE LINE, AS METROFIBRE ALREADY REMOVED THEIR NOKIA G-2425G ROUTER+ONT ON 26 SEPT 2023 AND REPLACED IT WITH A NOKIA G-010G-R STANDALONE ONT.
If Metrofibre Direct releases the line for which there is reportedly an ERL (which correct me if I'm wrong is the request and process of releasing the line), then there will no longer be an "issue" with line activation.
Problem = solved.
In summary on page 1, have Metrofibre Direct cancel the line and release it.
Or in other words, have Metrofibre Direct cancel the line and release it.
