The worst

If I had to say, what I want to say, there would be trouble. Their lack of service is out of this world. No answer as to why the 2.4ghz wireless has stopped transmitting from, from 31/01/2024, from their router and they are not taking responsibility for it. They say that I cannot buy my own router, as THEY will not make it active. The only department that will contact you, however, is their cancellations department, even though, when you request a cancellation document, they will automatically cancel you. Worst bunch of people I have ever had to deal with.

This is what these guys rep**** privately to me, as they do not want others to see what they are saying.
How can it be a range issue, when NOTHING has changed since it was put in. You guys are talking utter *******, as I can be 1 meter away from the router and still pick up absolutely NOTHING. If it was a range issue, I would not be picking up 5ghz from 10 meters away. You are absolute ******* and will be reported as such.

Dear valued client

Your Hello Peter complaint has been well received and investigated.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for the difficulties you have faced with your fibre signal and for any inconvenience or frustration this may have caused.

As per the feedback provided by our Network Operations Center, we can confirm your physical fibre link is up and running with optimal readings and your ONT (Optical Network Terminal) is online.

We have reconfigured your router to optimize your wireless connectivity.
Please be sure to connect to both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies offered by your router to ensure your Wi-Fi is functioning at optimum capacity.

Kindly take note of the following:

Wi-Fi signals experience attenuation due to distance from their source just like any other radio. This signal attenuation subsequently causes the radio to be less effective and throughput suffers. Eventually, connectivity is lost when the signal becomes too weak.

• To ensure the best speeds and highest reliability it is recommended that you connect TVs & computers to the ONT via network cable.
• Save the wireless for phones & tablets – this is a best practice and is recommended if possible.
• MFN can manage the speed of your connection up to your ONT but cannot be held liable for degraded Wi-Fi speeds on your internal Wi-Fi network. Wi-Fi is influenced by several factors that are out of our control, as every customer’s environment is different.

- MFN does not guarantee wireless signal levels.
- MFN does not guarantee wireless speeds.

This is due to factors out of our control:
• Distance from the ONT.
• Wireless interference.
• Overlapping of neighboring services.
• Congested wireless channels.
• Materials used to construct the home.
• Thick Walls.

Following the troubleshooting conducted by our Network Operations Center, no faults have been found with your fiber link or router. We wish to emphasize that while we can replace your ONT/router, this will be at your expense as the customer. However, if it is determined that the connectivity issues were caused by a service impairment or device fault unrelated to physical damage, you will not be held liable for the device swap.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require any further assistance.

Kind Regards

Dear Mike

Please be aware that our response to your complaint was not posted privately to conceal it from the public eye. Instead, it was done to safeguard sensitive information, particularly your fault ticket reference number. Hello Peter considers such details as sensitive and would redact them if posted publicly.

As mentioned in our response, it's important to understand that the factors influencing wireless connectivity extend beyond physical aspects that remain constant within your home. They encompass elements such as wireless interference, overlapping of neighboring services, and congested wireless channels. These variables are constantly evolving within your environment and that of your router.
Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,
Marilize

What YOU need to understand, is that the wifi is not a, "range issue", it is NON EXISTENT. Anyway, you can take your business and disappear, as I have cancelled and will be going with another ISP. Unfortunately, I will still be on your physical line, but at least I will be away from you.
