Problem with fiber breakage

Hello, I am requesting an urgent escalation regarding the outstanding repair to my fibre line. The fibre break is inside my property, which means no wayleave or municipal approval is required, and the repair should not be experiencing extended delays. Publicly available information confirms that MetroFibre’s biggest delays normally come from wayleave approvals on public land, which can take weeks to months. However, these delays do not apply in my case, because the break is entirely on private property, and no external permissions are needed. [shopfiber.co.za] Based on documented customer experiences, MetroFibre’s internal processes — including slow communication, missed commitments, and internal approval bottlenecks — are often the cause of avoidable delays. Industry analyses also show that delays frequently result from internal documentation issues, workflow bottlenecks, and approval backlogs, not external factors. [cables.co.za] [fiberwarehouse.co.za] Given this, please assist with:

Immediate approval of the contractor quote, as no external permissions are required. Issuing a job number for the repair. Providing a confirmed repair date and technician allocation.

The delay is causing unnecessary downtime, and since the issue is inside private property, it should be straightforward to resolve. Thank you for your urgent attention. I look forward to your immediate response. Regards, Ruhan Bekker

We understand how disruptive this is and acknowledge the urgency, particularly as the repair is fully within private property and does not require external approvals. Your concerns regarding delays caused by internal processes have been noted.

Please be assured that we are actively looking into the issue.  Once the schedule has been confirmed, we will provide you with a repair date and technician allocation to ensure the line is restored as quickly as possible.

Good day Ruhan,

We sincerely apologise for the frustration and inconvenience caused.

Your appointment is scheduled for today, 03/03/2026 at 14:00, and not 08:30 as previously understood. We understand that taking time off work is a major inconvenience, and we apologise for any miscommunication regarding the appointment time.

We have followed up with the contractor to ensure that they attend within the confirmed time slot. Should there be any further delays, you will be contacted directly.

Your feedback regarding the service experience is noted and will be escalated internally, as this is not the standard of professionalism we aim to deliver.

We appreciate your patience and thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Kind regards,
Keatlegile
