Pathetic fibre service provider.
Pathetic service/speeds on this fibre connection. I hardly get 10% of advertised speeds using services like battle net, epic games and steam to download games and patches. I decided to test and see on speedtest.net what the results will be and lo and behold: I get less than 2mbps speeds when testing on international servers from Europe and the US. These ****** throttle international internet traffic...

07 Jul 2023, 12:06This is my follow up review after interacting with Metrofibre management: Firstly let me state that there was never a cable break or physical fault whatsoever. So that isn't true. My router was "undiscoverable" to them because they tried to test the line speed from their side during loadshedding at my house. When they did test, the technical department tested full line speed as reflected in all my speedtest.net tests on LOCAL south African servers. Any international server speed tests I ran (and sent to them as proof) yielded performance between 10 to 40% of the advertised line speeds on a 20mb fibre connection which is horribly slow on top of big lag spikes when gaming on battlenet and epic games.
The response from management was that they do not guarantee fast internet speeds on international servers, in fact they do not even guarantee good or reasonable speeds on international servers and web services (which everything you do an a daily basis basically resides) are you kidding me? so what is this connection good for then? just to connect from your home to your workplace or what? Why did you not advertise it as a "local servers only" internet connection before I signed up? next stop ICASA...
