Metrofibre & Vodacom’s gross negligence leaves me stranded without fibre for over a week

I have been completely without fibre internet for over a week, and Vodacom’s and Metro fibres internal support teams has done absolutely nothing but give me the runaround. My service request reference is SR**********42. I logged this total network outage over seven days ago, expecting urgent technical intervention. Instead, I was ignored by first-line support while being promised that the issue was being looked into. I have now received written confirmation from the infrastructure provider (MetroFibre) apparently exposing the utter failure of Vodacom’s support system. Vodacom sat on my logged fault for nearly a week and ONLY actually passed the order (***1) to MetroFibre yesterday, 28 May 2026 (according to metro fibre who is quick to play the blame game ) - I can’t even verify if there is any truth to this as a metro fibre consultant called me a week ago with excuses and didn’t pitch up . Because of Metrofibore & Vodacom's systemic delays and pure incompetence, the earliest repair slot I can now get is the 3rd of June. Vodacom is forcing me to suffer nearly two weeks of total downtime on a service I rely on daily and pay for, solely because their team failed to submit basic paperwork for days and they cannot get a technician out to fix their problems . This is a blatant breach of service delivery and consumer misrepresentation. I demand that Vodacom Executive Escalations intervene with MetroFibre immediately to fast-track a technician to my house today, and I expect full written confirmation that my billing will be credited pro-rata from the original day the line dropped—not from when Vodacom finally decided to do their job.

If this is not resolved immediately, the entire paper trail proving this negligence will be escalated directly to ICASA and the Consumer Goods and Services Ombudsman (CGSO).

Dear A Vahed

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.

We understand the frustration and inconvenience caused by the prolonged fibre outage and the delays experienced throughout the support process. Being without connectivity for this length of time, especially on a service re**** on daily, is understandably unacceptable.

Please note that the matter has been escalated to the relevant department for urgent intervention and further engagement with MetroFibre regarding the repair timeline and technician allocation. We are actively following up on the escalation to assist in expediting the resolution process.

Your concerns regarding billing adjustments and downtime credits have also been noted and will form part of the ongoing investigation once the service has been restored.

We appreciate your patience while the relevant teams work toward resolving the matter as quickly as possible.

Kind regards,
Sibonisile
