Metrofibre needs better PRICES on PACKAGES
The uncompetitive pricing of Metrofibre is quite amazing in Durban. Of course they're not alone in this aspect. One would expect demographics and economics consideration but there seems to be none. Its quite obvious no actual study of demographic/economics was really app**** in package pricing.
So Metrofibre subscribers are under 20% uptake. Even Vodacom resellers say hardly any resales. Is there some difficulty in math to understanding why?
Put in perspective, a miniscule island economy like Manila has 80-140mbps unlimited fibre PLUS 40/60 cable channels for around R1000 equivalent. Fibre ONLY unlimited is less.
JHB is supposedly Metrofiber head office. Can someone there please consider reality and put in packages from R250 up at actual realistic and competitive prices?
Ramaphosa said we're on the Frontier of the Digital Age , but fibre SA is already 15 years behind the rest of normal earth. Now you give us these types of bizarre prices??
Well..not much can be said..But if you really want subscribers, dont be inconsiderate. You need good PRICES and PACKAGES from the 10mbps up. Hint. .it can work great from 10/5mbps@ R250 p/m. You'll probably get 10000 subs as opposed to around 1000 at current prices. You have 300 roadside..some others have 500...So its nothing undoable for Metrofibre.
The majority are not downloading 24/7 and are not really interested in majorly blazing speeds. They are interested in basic stability for the few hours a day they may use net.
There's no great study needed. Im sure your current stats tell you a fairly bad story. Whats surprising is that there's no recalibration from Metrofibre to address this. Maybe do a very fast review and reconfigure pricing. It may help you longer term.
