Metrofibre Fails Again
Metrofibre’s current level of service is frankly unacceptable. After our internet went down on the 6th of May 2026, a ticket was logged at 18:20. While we received a response by 19:47 stating a contractor was assigned, the execution thereafter has been a comedy of errors. Following up the next morning, we were promised a technician within an hour. A contractor did arrive on time, only to inform us that he does not service our area and had no idea why he was dispatched to our premises. This is a staggering lack of internal coordination. Attempts to resolve this have been met with empty promises: • Escalations: We were promised a callback within an hour; it never happened. • Support Accessibility: Wait times are incredibly long, and the automated "callback" system has failed to return any calls. It is frustrating to see continual price increases when the basic service—providing stable internet and competent support—is not being met. Metrofibre seems to have grown to a point where they either view customers as mere numbers or lack the infrastructure to support their client base. Providing actual service is a requirement for customer retention; right now, Metrofibre is failing.
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback.
Your concerns regarding the service outage logged on 6 May 2026, the contractor dispatch mismatch, escalation handling, missed callback commitments, and support accessibility have been noted. This matter is currently under review with the relevant technical and operational teams to assess the fault response process from initial logging through to contractor allocation and escalation handling.
We are also investigating the dispatch coordination process to determine why an incorrect contractor was assigned and to prevent recurrence of similar allocation issues.
In addition, the escalation and callback tracking process is being reviewed to identify where the breakdown occurred in follow-through and customer communication.
Our team will be in contact with you directly once the investigation has been completed with a full update and next steps.
Best regards,
Marilize
