Disgusting customer service

<div>The worst service in the history of fibre! Ever since joining this company, I’ve had nothing but poor connectivity, terrible customer service, and shockingly slow response times from their agents. But this latest experience takes the cake! I informed them in advance that my salary would be delayed, so the debit order wouldn’t go through. I asked for alternative payment options and waited the entire day for a response. When they finally rep****, I made the payment on 2 October using the very platform they advised. I even received a statement confirming that my account was up to date. Fast forward to 13 October, and suddenly my line is cut off! I contact them only to be told I have an “outstanding payment.” How is that possible when I’ve already paid and spoken to their agent Zanele, who never mentioned anything about having to pay double the premium because of the bounced debit order? I received no communication, no warning, and no notice of arrears — just a message saying my service was disconnected. Absolutely unacceptable! Their network is unreliable, their customer service is non-existent, and their communication is deceptive. You have to literally pray to get help when there’s an issue. Please save yourself the frustration and do not take their product. This company is unprofessional, misleading, and feels like a complete **** at this point.</div>

Dear Ayanda Ngubane

Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to share your experience. We fully acknowledge the frustration and inconvenience you've described.

Your concerns regarding the payment process, the lack of clear communication, and the subsequent service disconnection are taken very seriously. We understand the impact that poor connectivity and unexpected service interruptions can have, especially when you've made prior arrangements and followed the advised steps.

We are currently reviewing your account, including the payment made on 2 October, as well as your communication history with our team. We must clarify what went wrong and ensure this is resolved appropriately.

A senior representative will reach out to you directly to provide a full update and assist in restoring your service, should it still be affected.

Thank you for your patience as we investigate this matter. We are committed to making this right and ensuring you receive the level of service you expect and deserve.

Kind regards,

I’m honestly beyond fed up with this company. The level of incompetence and lack of communication from your team is unbelievable. I’ll be shocked if I even get a response today — because the only way to get anything done is to chase, beg, and remind your agents repeatedly to do their jobs.

I informed Zanele very clearly that I use your service for work. As I write this, I have no fibre connection, meaning I can’t work and am losing income because of your team’s poor service and zero accountability.

What makes this worse is the fact that all of this could have been avoided if someone had simply communicated properly. You waited until my line was disconnected to explain that I would need to pay in advance — something that should have been discussed immediately when I first informed you about my delayed salary. Instead, I get excuses after the damage is done.

When I spoke to Zanele at 1PM, she promised to speak to finance and get back to me. I waited hours — nothing. I called again at 4:45PM, was left on hold for 15 minutes, and no one bothered to answer. Only after I sent another email did I finally get a response, just to be told that my service would not be reconnected.

This is not just bad service — it’s outright negligence. The lack of urgency, care, or basic customer support from your team is disgraceful. You’ve cost me work hours, money, and patience.

Your company’s communication is a complete mess, your support team is unresponsive, and your clients are left to suffer the consequences. This is absolutely unacceptable, and I will be sharing this experience across multiple platforms to warn others.

I hear you talking about an “outstanding balance”, but why was I never informed about this when I reported the issue on the 30th? I was in active communication with your team from the 30th up until the 2nd — and on the 2nd, I even received a statement showing a zero balance. At no point did anyone communicate that I was expected to pay two premiums because a debit order had returned.

You had ample time to do the right thing — send me a revised statement, send an email, or even make a simple phone call to clarify the issue. But you did none of that. Instead, you just cut my fibre connection without warning.

Tell me, is that the kind of customer service you’re proud of? Is that how you treat paying customers who rely on your service to earn a living? It’s unacceptable and unprofessional.

This entire situation shows that Metro Fibre is not a trustworthy service provider — they can cut your connection at any time, without communication, and then blame you for their lack of follow-up.

To anyone reading this: stay far away from Metro Fibre. Read the reviews — they speak for themselves. The customer service is an absolute dumpster fire.

I have paid the ‘outstanding balance’ and I ask you guys open my fibre line immediately, then send me the cancellation process. I cat be with a provider I cannot trust and who jeopardises my career on a whim.
