Melon mobile ****
Dear HelloPeter,
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I received from Melon Mobile. Their advertising is misleading, and I believe it constitutes false advertising that should be addressed lawfully.
Melon Mobile claims to offer unlimited airtime, but in reality, calls are capped at 750 minutes. They even sent an email confirming this and referred to it as a "fair usage policy." This term is commonly used in reference to internet bundles, where it typically means reduced speed—not that your service will be cut off.
To my surprise, while trying to make what I believed to be "unlimited" calls, I received a voice prompt stating that I had reached my call limit. Meanwhile, their app still falsely displays that I have "unlimited calls" available. If they were transparent and showed usage stats or limits clearly, that would be more understandable. But now, there's no way to know how much airtime remains.
I purchased the SIM card specifically for business use and even referred others based on the advertised benefits. I feel deceived. This is not just poor service—it’s false advertising, and that’s a serious offense.
Frankly, I could have bought a Cell C all-network 900-minute bundle for R200 instead of wasting money on what now feels like a ghost service.
