Mellin's Tableview - From Hero to Zero in 30 days

I bought a pair of reading glasses just over a year ago from Mellin's Tableview and I chose them because they offered me the best quality products at an affordable price. The staff were very helpful and the optometrist gave me a very thorough eye test and diagnosis with an excellent description of the requirements for best results. I chose expensive lenses as suggested by them and an expensive Titanium Addidas frame to match. The results were outstanding and I have been very happy with my purchase until just recently. One day I noticed my frames seemed to have a little more flex in them than I remembered but didn't worry too much about it as it wasn't pronounced at all. Then a few months later, without bumping, dropping or mishandling in any way the lenses parted each other, leaving one loose in my hand when removing them from my rigid case. I was of course shocked and called Mellin's to let them know. They told me that the glasses only had a 1-year warranty. Of course, I was disappointed but thought that a brand like Addidas that sold frames for R3000 plus would surely warrant a pair of clearly manufacture faulted frames even if they were barely over a year old. I dropped the glasses off at Mellin's Tableview in Mid-August. Since then, I have contacted them more than 6 and less than a dozen times to find out what is happening with my glasses. I mentioned that I would like Addidas to replace the frames at their cost but if this was to become a lengthy process, I'd like to purchase another set of identical frames and at least get my glasses back and the continue with the claim request from Adidas. The last time I was contacted by Mellin's, they said they were following up on the availability of frames and also if Adidas was going to replace them at their cost. This is over a week ago and no more news. What kind of service is this? I think it is unacceptable as I have been without my pair of reading glasses for close on a month now. Just imagine how long it took me to type this message :) !
