Appalling Service and Incorrect Glasses from Mellins i-Style (Somerset Mall)

I paid almost R7 800 in April 2024 for what I was told were reading glasses, only to discover over a year later that they had no reading prescription at all — they were single-vision driving lenses!

After 18 months of phone calls and visits, not one staff member admitted the mistake until recently. I was repeatedly told to do another test or buy new glasses — instead of anyone taking responsibility.

Mellins also refused to email my script and invoice until I threatened to report them to Discovery Health, who recommended them. Their quote for new lenses was almost double what Specsavers offered.

Terrible service, overpriced, and zero accountability. I’ll never return and will be reporting this to Discovery Health as they use them as one of the recommended service providers.
