Overpriced Products, Poor Design & Quality Feels Too Cheap

Bought latest induction stove from Makro, by Mellerware worth R4k. In my opinion this should be priced no more than R2k because it's a rip-off of sorts. The stove is 'okay'-ish but certainly not the best on the market, more like DIY components put together albeit poorly so if you take a closer look at the varying gaps on the glass, the fact that the first stove (before replacement) got to me with a cracked glass plate (upon a closer look also, the packaging has paper thin protection, so on transit this would easily break off.

Properly designed induction stoves don't jump temperatures from 60, 80, 100 etc. to 270 deg; instead the electronics should be calibrated to sit at any temperature smoothly. So this ends up cooking either burnt food, or you'd need to wait long on low temp to get the food done. The pots are horrible, they stick, burn food, and the coating peels off like a sticker would peel off from a metal surface! in barely 3 months from purchase. I hope the peels aren't toxic, and I hope the pots aren't imported *****ed from China.

One of the pots, the big one, actually peeled off completely with about 3months of purchase and barely used (less than 10 times). The smaller pots are halfway peeled and all these pots stick straight from the box, the lids handles crack off, leaving the bolt on one end and the glass top with a gaping hole. Fantastic product to bundle off with the stove.

If you want the stove, buy it but for your health, stay away from the pots. I mean it! I now have to consult my doctor to run tests for possible food poisoning from the ****py peeling pots I've been using coz out of the blue, as healthy as I've been, the past month I've got edema on my feet, which isn't going away. So I've stopped using all the pots and pans that come with the stove.

Saving up to buy induction stainless steel pots and pans by Russel Hobs, those should be ok. No more non-stick pots that stick
