URGENT

I was under debt counselling with Meerkat... In 2020 I settled my accounts. On 21 Feb 2020 I settled my last account, FNB cheque. I NEVER received a settlement letter, which is, according to law, supposed to be given within 17 working days. (a form 19 or something). Then it was lock down. I was in a bit of a financial disposition and started using that money, which was strange to me because if you are under debt counselling, all your accounts are supposed to be closed and you are not supposed to have access to them. OK... AFter lockdown, I called Meerkat explaining that I did use the money and I would like them to negotiate with FNB on how I can pay that back. I haven't heard a thing for months. I called again in November and the lady said she will look into that. I received a call from HR Attorneys stating that I have been handed over!!! First of all when you are on debt review, you CANNOT be handed over, then I looked and saw that FNB has added charges to that account, which is also not, according to LAW, not prohibited if you are under debt counselling. I called Meerkat AGAIN and the lady was very stingy, saying that I have to sort it out myself and according to them, I am not with them anymore, because I settled my FNB account, HENCE the fact that I never got a settlement letter from them OR meerkat... She claims that I used the money and it is my responsibility. Now I am more than willing to pay the money I used, but I am NOT liable for any charges from FNB. PLUS, I have NEVER received any written documentation stating that I am no longer a member of meerkat or from FNB or anything.... The Manager Valecia Brown, called me on Thursday 17 June to hear my side and said that she spoke with FNB and I am not "handed over". I asked her to put it in writing, which she did. She also explained that I shouldn't pay anything to any other company, only FNB, when I receive the settlement letter...... Tomorrow it will be TWO weeks, and still NOTHING. I called and e-mailed her again. And after I received a call from the attorney stating again that I have been handed over I called Meerkat AGAIN... they said the will call me back, but NOTHING.... I mean it is MY finances and my reputation and MY credit score that they hold in their hand. And they did not do their part according to law
