Horrific Experience
I am looking at all these 5 star reviews wondering how on earth this happened. Meerkat were superb until I got my clearance certificate, then they washed their hand of me. R3000 later and I am getting no help to get my name cleared. I am not even sure they care. I tried quering this with Experian and only the debt review people can query with letters etc etc. All I get told, and quote "Meerkat have done their side and the money is non refundable". So the R3000 was to do what?? My name is not cleared with any credit agencies so was my clearance certificate even submitted?? Why did I even go through this process. I am going leave poor reviews wherever I can for Meerkat.

24 Mar 2026, 08:54Thank you for your feedback. As advised the NCR DHS system has been down since beginning of February and all debt counsellors were affected. This meant that the credit bureaus could not be updated. The credit bureau association then advised debt counsellors could manually process the clearance requests from 6 March and we submitted your file. Credit bureau can take up to one month to update. We are following up on your behalf and will be in touch.
