EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND LET DOWN BY MEERKAT

I am extremely dissatisfied with Meerkat’s service. I have never missed a single payment with them, and they recently deducted R13,900 from my account as agreed. This was after requested that they skip only one month so i can get a small relief so i can manage my hectic finances and small loans which i have had to request due my distressed state of being. Despite this, they failed to allocate payments correctly, and now ABSA is chasing me daily with phone calls, emails, and direct messages about an “outstanding” balance that Meerkat missed. ABSA phoned and they said they missed a month of payment in February, but how? because for the 2 months i missed they made sure to collect double the next 3 months.

This is incredibly stressful and completely unacceptable. The entire point of debt review is to have payments managed properly and avoid exactly this type of harassment from creditors. Instead, Meerkat’s poor administration has left me responsible for covering their mistake.

A debt review company should protect its clients and provide peace of mind, not cause further financial and emotional strain. I would not recommend Meerkat to anyone looking for reliable debt review assistance.

As it is I don't have a penny in my account to pay for the extra amount that they are sending me emails to pay for. I am really disappointed to say the least and i have my regrets. They asked me to recommend people to them but then again how do you do that if this process is this emotionally draining for me. ######## DISSAPPOINTED AND DISSATISFIED. I did not know that joining this programme with this company would bring more harm than good to my financial wellbeing, i have a child who needs my support, even worse I cant even afford personal needs like rentals, food etc. Maybe cancelling would be the next best option.

We appreciate your feedback. Unfortunately, ABSA declined your second request for a payment holiday as no supporting documents were provided. This was communicated to you. One of our consultants will call you today to respond to your feedback.

ABSA might have declined my send request but my request was treated exactly the same way as the first. Same amount of double deduction was made the second time around. So then tell me how it's possible that I owe them?. I spoke to a ABSA consultant and they blatantly told me that you skipped payment for February. How is that possible when in a January, February and March you deducted double the amount to cover up for the month that was missed. I still dont get it and I will not get it even if your consultant phones me. This is not a joke, I suffer every month especially after I request a a month of relief and yet this is how I am treated afterwards. Your debit order has never bounced not once. What makes me so mad is that I always play my part and make sure that the money is there when this lumpsum of a debit order goes out. Its always a problem with my loan, the last time it happened, I was told by one of your consultants that I must just ignore it as your company will clear it. How is it different now huh?
