"Sorry for the inconvenience" if you are hospitalized or die?

I hate having to write this review, but I am absolutely shocked by the service I have received over the last week and a half. I am on chronic medication that is delivered monthly. This month, my medication (insulin) was supposed to be delivered on Monday the 18th of November. The courier shows a delivery failure (which I know nothing about) and since that failed delivery, I have spoken to both Medipost and the courier (Skynet) and as at today the 28th of November my medication has still not been delivered. I am leaving for Cape Town this afternoon on a business trip, and I still have no medication. I am effectively now a diabetic not on insulin anymore, and the courier has just informed me that they will not make the delivery in time because they have a truck to unload.

I am absolutely appalled by the Medipost feedback "we are so sorry for the inconvenience" and Skynet's attitude "we'll see what we can do" and then they don't do anything.

Do these 2 companies realize they are dealing with people's wellbeing, and this type of service can lead to people having to be hospitalized? ...or even dying? Surely they should have a "plan B" to get medications to patients when it is urgent, especially if the lack of original delivery is their fault?

Reviewer Update
Just wanted to confirm Medipost phoned me the same day and I had my meds within an hour. The gentleman that helped me was very professional. The issue was on the couriers side, let's hope it doesn't happen again.
