Worst Service Ever Received

I did an online application to join the scheme on the 16/05/2016 and got an email later on during the day that my membership has been activated effective 01/06/2016. I contacted the scheme directly on ***after receiving the confirmation email that my membership has been activated and requested information on how I go about changing my billing to arrears as my current medical scheme membership is billed in arrears and I was advised by the call centre agent to get a letter from my current scheme stating that the billing is in arrears in order to change my billing with Medihelp to arrears and I needed to email it to ***.

Nowhere during the call was it mentioned that it is not allowed. So I requested a letter from my previous medical scheme and emailed it to *** on the 20/05/2016. I got an email back on the 24/05/2016 stating that following a rule amendment with effect from January 2014 subscriptions are payable in advance and my request cannot be approved. Looks like the scheme is so big that they do not need new members.

So why the hell do you go and waste my time by asking me to get a letter. Does the call centre not know the rules? Why was the incorrect information give to me?

I than immediately rep**** to the email received on the 24/05/2016 requesting to cancel my membership and not to debit my bank account as the call centre advised me that they cannot do the cancellation telephonically. Up to date I have not received a response and now due to their incompetence I have been debited and incurred a bank charge of R100.00 for an unpaid item.

Medihelp talks about Industry experience is invaluable in providing top-notch products and services to our members. What type of service do you call this???

Dear bishamgangaram

The telephone conversations between yourself and Mrs Lathiff of Medihelp on 2 June 2016, refer.

Your application was cancelled with effect from your date of enrolment, namely 1 June 2016. Since our debit order data-file was already submitted to the bank at the time of your request to cancel your application, we could not stop the debit order.

Kind regards
