Throwing money in the water apparently, thanks to Medihelp.

Hi,

I am really fed up with Medihelp. I pay every month on time and when I had my wisdom teeth removed in hospital I had to make a co-payment of 2900, which I did, no problem.

Now, three months later, I am still receiving statements from the specialist and anaesthetist for outstanding payments that Medihelp/Dental Risk just isn’t sorting out.

Instead, they’re ignoring me and consultants hang up on me when I call. Again, a massive issue that I have. I pay Medihelp every month and I am doing all of the running around and calling and emailing and finding out what’s happening. What am I paying you for?

I’ve called, emailed, begged, fought, and yet, here I am, month three, and still waiting.

Apparently they just don’t cover certain codes but regret to inform me about this. I mean, I am fully covered for in hospital procedures and when I read the brochure it only mentioned the co-payment.

With all the money that I am paying them I could’ve settled this debt in cash when the procedure happened.

This is honestly making me look bad. I’m getting so fed up with this.

If this carries on I am going to have to settle my debt and pay the outstanding fees which come to about R3000 and then also my co-payment of R2900. So far, Medihelp has only paid about R2000 and something. So, really? What am I paying you guys for?
