Request for lower option declined

On the 10/7/2017 We've requested Medihelp Medical Scheme. to change our plan to a lower option which is cheaper than the current one due to affordability. On the 13/7/2017 I’ve received feedback that they declined. We’ve eventually terminated the medical aid due to affordability. Medihelp did not even consider the lower option for us! We were 6 and a half years clients of Medihelp and this is how they treat their customers! Please be aware of Medihelp's "Scheme Rules". The membership fee increase and the service decrease!! Bad service!!!

Dear elmana-broden

Note has been taken of your frustration with Medihelp’s application of the rules and regulations.

Medihelp is not indifferent to the needs or circumstances of its members, but our decisions must at all times be made within the framework of the Rules. Section 32 of the Medical Schemes Act, 1998 stipulates that the rules of a medical scheme shall be binding on its members, officials and its Board of Trustees and that no exceptions can be made, no matter how deserving a case may be.

Kind regards

Medihelp Customer Care
