So I've been with medihelp since 2008 and my husband (on his own plan) even longer - we've been paying our monthly contributions without fail and have hardly used the medical aid.<br> 2014 I was pregnant & then immediately had problems with them(now resolved). But, during the whole process we found at that our baby has a rear disease and will have to undergo a surgical procedure within her first week of life. This condition is a Prescribed Minimum Benefit - I got quotes for the medical aid from all the specialist, they ensured me time after time that I have no expenses to worry about and I must just focus on my baby. BUT of course there's some dotted line somewhere (I did not see any documentation, so don't blame me) that they do not pay this and that... so even with a PMB patient I'm now sitting with R 25,000.00 worth of bills! Worst is I'm now being told by multiple people medihelp is the worst when it comes to PMB!! IS this then not a human right? Why did no-one say anything (i asked many times)? Surely if Insurers don't like a bill they should take it up with the other party not just leave it for us and let us be sued? I'm so sick of being *****ed over by this medical aid!!!!
