My specialist cover is finished. (Not Medihelp's fault) I went to a Dermatologist to get something checked out and was diagnosed with skin cancer and I need surgery to remove it.
I went on to the Medihelp website and I looked up dermatologists in a 20km radius. There are supposed to be two. Dr P Malahlela and Dr L Nkosi.
I phoned both trying to get an appointment to have the surgery done. Dr Mapahlela let me know that they are not Medihelp Necesse service providers, so what are they doing on the list in the first place?
Dr Nkosi's office doesn't know if they are or aren't. I was told to contact the Dr and she would let me know. I phoned her 3 times and couldn't get hold of her. I left messages which she doesn't bother listening to or responding to.
My question is why does Medihelp have Dr's on their network list that aren't there and that don't reply when you phone them?
The dermatologist that diagnosed me was the most affordable of the lot and he can remove my cancer in two weeks but Medihelp says they will not pay for the surgery, I have to go to one of the above mentioned Dr's. If these Dr's can't supply basics such as knowledgeable reception or answer their phones then what confidence do I have that they will be able to perform the procedure on my face. For all I know I will be scarred for life.
Does Medihelp not screen their network Dr's?
