ONCE AGAIN MEDIHELP CONTINUES HARASSMENT AND THEN A BILL: R5437.45

I resigned from Medihelp on the 1 November stating that my final month was until the 30 November 2016 as instructed to AON represenatative who also stalled and failed to notify of my unhappiness with your failure to pay outstanding medical bills.

1. Dental where only R188.30 was paid for one yearly visit and the total amount was R1073,29. (I visit the dental practitioner once a year.)

2. Xray procedures R395,80 +R739,30 = R1135,10 of which was declained as apparently their were insufficient funds in the savinga account?

3. My monthly installment of R1926-00 was still paid dutifully and then you fail the paying customer who joined your medcial scheme in good faith and signed documents in good faith in 2011.01.01.

Now on Friday 9 December I get an e-mail stating I owe you R5437.45....where did Medihelp get that info when I personally phoned your office and e-mailed my resignation and then you still bill me for what.... Medihelp are all not paying anything .... I am paying all my own bills....where did all the funds go?

Please do not use the same little ryme...insufficient funds in the savings account...where is the rest of the money that gets paid to you all. How many other people do you fail.

Medihelp sent 8 emails in one day threatening me about my non payment.

Now you want my personal expenditure account of three months and Medihelp Debtors threaten to garnish my wages....really...

I paid a third of my income to have a decent Medical aid and in this year alone I paid to you R1926x11 on the first of every month.

You are a disgrace and all pass the buck when a client is in distress. What if my medical cost were higher..what excuse would Medihelp have thought up then.

Shame on you all.

Dear JMD1949

During your membership with the Scheme, you were registered on the Dimension Prime 2 benefit option. This option offers comprehensive private hospital cover with a savings account for day-to-day medical expenses.

At the beginning of each financial year a credit facility is made available equalling 12 months’ applicable monthly contributions to the savings account, for the payment of claims. Once the available amount has been depleted, you will be liable for payment of any outstanding amounts on accounts for day-to-day medical expenses.

When you terminated your membership at the beginning of November 2016, the difference between the amount processed from your credit facility and your actual savings contributions were set off against each other and resulted in an amount of R468 payable by yourself.

As requested on 2 November 2016, your membership with Medihelp was cancelled on 30 November 2016. Your subscriptions fees are payable in arrears at the end of each calendar month, which implicates that your last subscription was payable on 30 November 2016, being the last day on which you were covered.

According to our records the amount owed to the Scheme amounts to R2 394, which comprises of your unpaid subscription fee for November 2016 as well as a debit on your savings account in the amount of R468.00.

Due to your failure to pay your subscription fees at the end of November 2016, Medihelp followed the debt collection process to collect the outstanding subscription fees.

The two accounts referred to in your complaint are currently being investigated and feedback will be provided in the response to the complaint lodged by yourself with the Council for Medical Schemes.

Please accept my apologies for the duplicate emails sent to you in error, which originated from a system error.

Kind regards
