Not paying out for emergencies
Disclaimer: The review includes the topic of miscarriage.
If I could give a lower score, I would.
I had a hospital plan which stated that they would pay for my hospital fees and emergencies they cover fully.
After 2/3 years of faithfully paying my fees each month, I had an ectopic pregnancy. While having the miscarriage, I was rushed to the hospital and had to undergo an emergency procedure. According to Medihelp, they will cover all emergencies, but they paid less than half of my bills relating to the miscarriage.
Imagine losing your child and then hearing that your medical aid did not pay out like contractually obligated.
