Medihelp worst scheme avoid them
Medihelp is perhaps the most useless and uncooperative medical scheme in South Africa If you cannot get through on their pre authorization line there is an option for self help on their no very user friendly website. You receive a ref number but not much more. When you arrive for your procedure there arw countless things that still need to be done and not even your Doctor knows these steps apparently. Sending them reports and knowing the medical procedures is now in the realm of the patients to know Very unprofessional scheme and the medical fraternity are ******* partners in this endeavor. South Africa is done and these ******* companies are lart and parcel of the Ramaphosa type thinking taking your money and giving nothing back

Almost 5 months after the surgery and getting a nice call from Medihelp on the 17th of November stating that my R4500 co-payment would be recinded so i would not have to pay it anymore , only to find out that it was not the case.
Birchmed sent me a bill for the R4500 today and to inform me what you told me on the 17th of November was in fact not done as per the call from the claims department
I phoned the call centre today and a lady named Carika said she would forward my case to the claims as she could see it was on my file
The reference number i got was T***1
I was misled through this whole process and if it does not get sorted out i will have to get the ombud involved and perhaps look at legal action , as i did not want the procedure done but Birchmed said they will have the co payment so i was *****ulantly misled.
Please resolve
